I imagine the barefoot girl freely running through the field of yellow flowers.

What we see grandmothers today is both familiar and strange.

Most of the time it is also a sign of sympathy.

What is youth to them? What is freedom?

What would they most like to do if they go back to that time?

A dozen years ago when my Mother's Mom was still alive.

For about 2 years, I served my maternal grandmother.

Eating, changing diapers...

The words of my maternal grandmother who said sorry and thank me still remain in my mind.

Whenever my grandmother said that, I said it, too.

Grandmother did everything for your little daughter~ we're even~ hihi~

After my grandmother died,

Suddenly, when my grandmother's favorite song came out on the radio, it made my heart stunned.

My grandmother has been raising and caring for her children all her life.

Her later years were spent in her youngest daughter's house, unable to care for her sons. The song that my grandmother sang in her room, saying she was comfortable for the first time in her life.

Suddenly, grandmother was a woman... You must have been young. You still look like a girl... And she... What if she had lived her life free...

It's not the same memory or the same pain and Unmatched in pain but also of the old Japanese military sexual slavery victims I wondered what I could do for them.

Memories of Their Pain? A moment of pain? I didn't want to take up the memory of the outrage. All I can do for them. I thought I would paint a beautiful picture of her time, perhaps the brightest of them all.

In the title of my work, <Memory piece - Wind, Hope> the wind means ambiguous.

In Korean, <Baram> means wind and hope. Words with two different meanings sound the same.

May a warm breeze of memory blow to their memory... and My hope for a warm memory for them.

I am always grateful, thankful and sorry to all the grandmothers in the world.
